Three people, who were arrested last week on suspicion of a serious assault after a baby was taken to St Mary’s Hospital, have been bailed until November 26.
As previously reported, officers were alerted to concerns for the welfare of the one-year-old child, at around 9.30am last Wednesday (August 26).
A 26-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, both from Ryde, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). They were also arrested on suspicion of assault, ill-treatment, or neglect of a child likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury. A 26-year-old man from Shanklin was also arrested on suspicion of GBH.
The incident centred around Oak Vale in Ryde, and enquiries are ongoing. The three have been bailed with strict conditions.
