Three more Covid-19 patients recover

Three people who were being treated for coronavirus at St Mary’s Hospital have now recovered, the Isle of Wight NHS Trust have revealed.

It brings to 12 the number of patients at the hospital who have recovered since the outbreak began, an increase of three on previous figures.

The number of people who have died on the Island through coronavirus-related illness now stands at 11, a rise of three, and the number of confirmed cases still stands at 56.

Alistair Flowerdew, Medical Director at Isle of Wight NHS Trust, said: “Sadly, we can confirm that three more people who were being cared for at St Mary’s Hospital and had tested positive for COVID-19 have now died.

“The men and women were in their 70s and 80s and had underlying health conditions.Their families have been informed and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with them all at this difficult and distressing time.”
