Repair Café returns to Quay Arts

A pop-up Repair Café will take place at Quay Arts, in Newport, tomorrow (Saturday) offering people the chance to have broken household items fixed by volunteers, rather than sending them to landfill.

Visitors can bring clothing, small electricals, electronics, computers, tablets, phones or small pieces of furniture. Repairs are carried out with the owner involved, helping build skills and confidence to tackle future fixes at home. Some items, such as microwave ovens, cannot be repaired for safety reasons.

Free tickets must be booked in advance, selecting both a repair type and time slot to help match items with available volunteers. Book one ticket per item; if a category shows as unavailable, a repairer with those specific skills is not available for that session.

The Repair Café runs from 10am to 2pm and entry is free. Booking details are available at iw.observer/repair-cafe.
