Ladies who were once Brownies or Girl Guides, along with parents and anyone interested in volunteering, are invited to a free drop-in event being held by Girlguiding IW.
The Island currently has more than 500 members, but the organisation is keen to welcome more girls aged four to 18, as well as adult volunteers to help support existing units and enable new ones to form in towns and villages across the Island.
The event takes place this Saturday at the Parish Centre on Town Lane, Newport, with visitors welcome to drop in between 11am and 1pm. Parents can find out where units have vacancies and what being involved with Girlguiding entails, while anyone considering volunteering can speak to leaders about the roles available.
There will be Girlguiding activities to try, along with free refreshments, and organisers say everyone is welcome to attend, even if it is just to say hello.
Visitors can also find out more about World Thinking Day, including the Island event planned for February 28, with further details to be announced.
More information is available at iw.observer/girlguiding via the Contact Us page or Events section.
