In Division Six South, IW Men’s II XI drew 1-1 at home to league leaders Salisbury Striders, with keeper, Nate Bower, protected by the determined defence of Jarrod Butler, Stu Allen, Steve Holbrook, Will Dall-Whittall, and Gareth Rider. With youngsters, Nathan Phillips and Rupert King, always pressing down the flanks, a foul, on Carl Joyce, saw Jack Forsythe find Jonny Kirby, passing to Thomas Young on the ‘D’ then firing across the goal for debutant Jasper Jenkinson to score with his first touch of the game for 1-0. With the visitors pressing, Sam Challis made a goal line clearance to ensure a half-time lead.

After the break, Salisbury pressed for the equaliser early on, and at 1-1 both sides received warnings from the match official. With the match finishing level, the Islanders became the first side to take a point from Salisbury.
