Sea swim spots up for grabs

The Isle of Wight Marlins Swim Club has confirmed that entries are now officially open for the Pier2Pier Sea Swim Isle of Wight 2026, one of the Island’s most popular open‑water fixtures.

This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, at 2pm, with a back‑up date of Sunday, August 2, at 3pm, should conditions require a change.

The cross‑bay challenge between Sandown and Shanklin regularly attracts a full field, with places often snapped up very quickly. Organisers are encouraging swimmers to sign up early to avoid disappointment.

A club spokesman said the Pier2Pier remains a highlight of the summer sporting calendar, offering a memorable mix of friendly competition, coastal scenery, and community spirit.

Entries can be made via iw.observer/pier2pier, and the Marlins are urging supporters to spread the word about what they describe as a “wonderful swimming experience” for newcomers and seasoned sea‑swimmers alike.
