Patients, families and members of the public are being encouraged to recognise outstanding NHS hospital staff by nominating them for Isle of Wight NHS Trust’s 2027 People’s Choice Award.
The award forms part of the Trust’s annual Delivering Excellence Awards and celebrates an individual or team who has made a significant difference to a patient’s experience or delivered exceptional care.
The award gives members of the public the opportunity to thank NHS staff who have gone above and beyond in supporting them or their loved ones during treatment and care.
Last year’s winner was Student Nurse Apprentice Karolina Adamski, who was selected from a shortlist of four staff members. She was recognised for her exceptional care of patients, particularly those with additional needs.
In her nomination, Karolina was praised for the positive impact she has on patients, with one supporter describing how people’s spirits visibly lifted when they saw she was on duty. The nomination also highlighted her commitment to improving comfort and emotional wellbeing, as well as her maturity, empathy and dedication.
Paul Hargreaves, the Trust’s Chief People and Culture Officer, said staff regularly provide countless reasons to be proud, from their clinical expertise to the kindness and reassurance they offer patients and families during difficult times.
He encouraged anyone who has experienced exceptional care to submit a nomination and help recognise the individuals and teams behind that support.
Nominations are now open and will close on Friday, December 11. You can find the nomination forms via iw.observer/nhs-award.
