Have your say on support services, Islanders urged

More than 100 Islanders have already shared their views on the future of the Isle of Wight’s Living Well and Early Help Service, but council and NHS partners are urging more people and organisations to take part before a consultation closes later this month.

So far, 101 responses have been received during the public engagement exercise, which aims to gather views on how future support services can help people remain independent, maintain their wellbeing, and access help before problems escalate.

The Isle of Wight Council’s Adult Social Care and Public Health teams are working alongside NHS Hampshire & Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board to review future provision as the current contract approaches its end.

In particular, the organisations are keen to hear from charities, community groups and social enterprises that support Islanders on a daily basis.

Laura Gaudion, director of adult social care and public health, thanked those who have already taken part but said more feedback was needed.

She said: “The response has been encouraging, but we want to hear from as many people and organisations as possible before the consultation closes.

“We are particularly keen to receive feedback from voluntary and community organisations. These groups play a vital role in supporting Islanders, and often have valuable insight into what works well, where gaps exist, and what support people may need in the future.”

The Living Well and Early Help Service supports adults aged 18 and over, helping people maintain their independence, improve their wellbeing, and access practical support at an early stage.

The survey remains open until Monday, November 30.

Islanders can also meet the team at a series of drop-in events: Parklands Dementia Resource Centre, Cowes, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Wednesday, November 4; West Wight Sports Centre Café, Freshwater, from 1pm to 3pm on Monday, November 9; Ryde Library, from 10am to noon on Tuesday, November 10; and Quay Arts Centre Café, Newport, from 11am to noon on Wednesday, November 11.
