Newport & Carisbrooke Community Council (NCCC) have purchased twelve goals to be enjoyed free of charge throughout the summer holidays.
There will be a set of goals at Downside Recreation Ground, two at Victoria Recreation Ground, two at Nine Acres and one at Clatterford Recreation Ground.
NCCC Chair Cllr Martin Oliver said: “It’s great to be able to offer a facility for local children to use that is free, set in some beautiful and quiet areas of Newport. The Victoria Recreation Ground in particular is a hidden gem that NCCC are proud to be able to offer to local residents & visitors to encourage outdoor activities.’’
NCCC ask that the goals are treated with respect as it may not be possible to replace them if they are broken or vandalised.
