The Isle of Wight Council is holding a meeting to update local residents on various road issues in and around in Ventnor.
Leeson Road, which connects Shanklin with Bonchurch, has been closed since December 10, following a landslide, one of the largest in Europe. The council has commissioned an independent investigation and risk assessment of the affected area. In parallel to the council study, Island Roads has also commissioned engineers to assess the feasibility of opening part or all of the road.
There will be a public meeting to update local residents on Thursday (February 29) at 6pm. It will be held at St Catherine’s Church, in Church Street, and will also include updates on Ventnor Eastern Esplanade, the Environment Agency’s Ventnor coastal programme and the progress made by Island Roads on the Rene Howe Walk, known as the Cascades.
