Island farmers, land managers, and rural professionals are being encouraged to come together next month for the second Isle of Wight Farming Conference, which will be held on Thursday, February 12, at Barton Manor, in East Cowes.
Organised by Wight Rural Hub, the event has been designed specifically around the needs and realities of Island farming, offering practical advice, open discussion, and peer to peer learning. It follows the success of last year’s inaugural conference and will focus on three major challenges shaping the future of farm businesses: technology, teamwork, and resilience.
This year’s programme brings together a strong line up of speakers from across the agricultural and rural sectors, including representatives from Willy’s Apple Cider Vinegar, LandApp,
Claas, Barfoots, Andersons, the Farming Community Network and several Island farmers. Each will share hands on experience, lessons learned, and ideas that attendees can apply directly to their own businesses.
Organisers say the event is also an important opportunity to support Natural Enterprise’s Wight Rural Hub, the independent charity that provides year-round guidance, events, and signposting for the Island’s farming community.
Tickets cost £15, including lunch and refreshments, and early booking is advised due to limited capacity.
Organisers say attendees can expect practical insights tailored to Island farming, the chance to hear directly from business and wellbeing specialists, and valuable networking with fellow farmers and rural professionals.
Tickets are available via the Wight Rural Hub website.
