Year 1 pupils, from Broadlea Primary School, recently walked to Lake railway station to replenish the planters, marking the sixth year the school has helped care for the site. Staff said they were proud to continue supporting the local community, with projects like this helping children deepen their understanding of plants, growth, and responsibility.
The school thanked the organisations that made the activity possible. Lake Parish Council funded the flowers, Morrisons supplied the peat free of charge, and school governor and Lake Parish Council chairman, Cllr Paul Brading, joined the pupils to lend a hand.
A further thank‑you was given to members of the public who weeded the area. A school spokesman said that their efforts help keep the station looking welcoming for everyone.
