However, they are a bit more complex and costly to install, because they require a three-phase supply. This option is best suited for those who frequently need rapid charging capabilities at home, or for commercial premises.

Optimal charging locations
When installing a home electric car charger, the location matters. Chargers can be placed in outdoor areas like driveways or in enclosed spaces like garages. Studies have indicated that temperature can have a noticeable effect on charging times, with charging times potentially increasing by up to 40 per cent in certain scenarios, when the charger is exposed to extreme temperatures. Therefore, installing your charger in a garage or a sheltered area is preferable to ensure consistent and efficient charging performance.
