Three staff members at Grace’s Bakery, Yarmouth, have raised more than £2,000 for Cancer Research UK’s Cold-Water Challenge.

Laura Smith, Sharon Pickering and Emma Prince swam every day in the sea at Colwell during March. Laura explained: “My sister, Catherine, and dad, Martyn, have both finished cancer treatment recently, and our families have all been touched by the disease at some point.

“We had to go into the sea every day in March for at least 30 seconds because that’s when the temperature is at its lowest, but we stay in for longer and have a little swim as well.

“It was a really great challenge and we raised more than £2,000, mainly from our generous customers. Cold water swimming is quite addictive and all of us are determined to keep going in the future.”
