Football, and Island sport representatives, continue to highlight the importance of the Men Only mental health organisation, based in Ryde.
Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor, as well as Niton, took part in a presentation of a team shirt to East Wight MP, Joe Robertson, at Steyne Park last weekend. They stood alongside ref, Ian Vallance, Gary Gee from Ventnor, Justin Malin from Bembridge, and Karl Hart from Men Only to show their support for the campaign.
Joe Robertson, MP, said: “Sport makes a real difference to people’s physical and mental health, and this grassroots initiative is Island-wide. Thanks to Karl, with teams like Bembridge and Ventnor, the campaign will continue to grow and support individuals that need help when, and where, they need it.”
Karl Hart added: “Thanks to Joe, Gary, Justin and all the players for their continuing support of this much-needed service, and the number of teams, and sports, involved on the Island continues to grow.”
IW Observer is helping to support the campaign, which was launched on World Mental Health Day on October 10.
Details of the support available from Men Only is available on iw.observer/men-only-iow.
