Around 100 youngsters took part in Shanklin VYCC’s Children in Need activities, with a Hallowe’en theme, in an evening attended by East Wight MP, Joe Robertson, and Sandown’s mayor, Alex Lightfoot, as well as local police.
Volunteers donned witches or other spooky outfits, and decorated the youth centre with skeletons, spiders and scary scenes, with a range of ghostly music played.
Leader, Mark Biddlecombe, dressed as Dobby the Elf, said: “Thanks to Joe and Alex for judging our fancy dress and ‘mummy’ competitions, as well as local police for popping in to support our Children in Need evening.”
