The MEP for the East of England, Patrick O’Flynn, has taken to twitter to call for migrants to be detained on the Isle of Wight.
The former UKIP MEP claimed a detention camp would: “bring lots of jobs and investment to the Island.”
O’Flynn added that: “the Island has lots of experience running secure detention too.”
In reply, Bob Seely MP, was opposed to the idea of using the former prison in Camp Hill to detain migrants.
Mr Seely stated: “Thanks, but no thanks. Land taken with plans for green village.”
