Car stolen in Freshwater with dogs inside

A red Ford Focus has been stolen from near Freshwater School Green outside the Gail Middleton shop. There were two dogs inside the car when it was stolen: a border collie and a Cairn at around midday today (December 31).

The car’s registration number is CK03 LSD.

It belongs to local lifeboat man, Ray Scott, who is the training officer at Freshwater Independent lifeboat. Both the police and Wightlink ferries have been informed about the stolen car.

UPDATE 14.32

The vehicle and the dogs have been safely returned to the location from where it was stolen. The dogs have been reunited with their owner. It is unclear if any arrests have been made as a result of the car being taken without the consent of the owner.

Hampshire Constabulary says enquiries found that neither had been stolen.
