Calling all kids 12 years old and under!
Local red squirrel charity, The Isle of Wight Red Squirrel Trust, is running a competition for children aged 12 years old and under.
Think up a suitably quirky name for their new mascot red squirrel for the chance to win a family adoption for a year, a certificate and a red squirrel goodie bag.
The closing date for entries is May 18th. To enter, email your name, age and chosen squirrel name to wightsquirrels@hotmail.com.
The winner will be picked using an on-line randomised picker.
If you would like to have a good look at the new mascot to help you to come up with just the right name, you will find this rather striking creature in the shop window in Pyle Street, where Lloyds Pharmacy used to be.
There is also lot of information about red squirrels in the shop window, so take Mum and Dad along and learn a bit about red squirrels together.
