There is a new safety officer for Yarmouth RNLI

Shaun Smith

Yarmouth RNLI has appointed a new water safety officer, Shaun Smith, who will play a pivotal role at the Lifeboat Station, by being involved in the design and implementation of the Community Lifesaving Plan.

He will also provide free education and water-safety advice, including those who visit the coast including school groups, walkers, or boats visiting the harbour.

Mr Smith said: “I am really impressed with the support the water safety officers offer. They not only support the RNLI’s mission of saving lives through raising awareness, but also contribute to station’s fund-raising activities.” He moved to Yarmouth after retiring, and selling his management consultancy. He is an active member of the Royal Solent Yacht Club, and keeps and races a Contessa 32 sailing yacht and is also a qualified Yachtmaster.
