Many law firms may be leaving town, but one local solicitor is bucking the trend.
Lawdit Solicitors opened its new offices in 105 St James’ Square in Newport on Friday evening, welcoming around 70 people to the event. Clients and other special guests enjoyed mulled wine and mince pies with Lawdit’s team, and heard how their new premises will help them to provide even better services in the future.
The firm has been operating from second-floor offices overlooking St Thomas’ Square, but decided they needed a more accessible location in response to feedback from clients.
Lawdit, formed 23 years ago, also has offices in Southampton and London, but the firm’s principal, Michael Coyle, and partner, Mark Reed, both live in Newport and have always enjoyed working with Island clients, so opened an office to cater to their needs in 2018. The business has expanded significantly since then, largely from recommendations, so a move to larger premises was needed.
Considering all options, they decided to resist the pressure to move to out-of-town or industrial estate premises, as they believe a town centre location means they can offer better service to their clients.
Mark was excited about the new opportunities the office presents. He said: “One element of our decision was to help revitalise the centre of our county town.
“But at Lawdit, we also understand the importance of providing modern services while valuing some of the traditional ways of doing things. Many people fondly remember the trusted ‘solicitor on the High Street,’ and that is exactly what we aim to provide.
Pop your head around the door, and explore how we can assist you with any legal matters you may have. Don’t worry – there’s no charge for finding out if we can help.
“Not only is our town centre location convenient for personal clients, but it is also a strategic choice for businesses.
“We were blown away by the opening party for our new offices. All the feedback was positive and we are really looking forward to seeing both existing and new clients here.”
