Free Hallowe’en magic at IW Steam Railway

Families looking for a spellbinding way to celebrate the spooky season are in for a treat at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway’s Witches, Wands & Wizards event. Running until October 31, the historic station at Havenstreet has opened its doors to magic, mystery, and family-friendly frights.

Best of all, entry to the Hallowe’en site is completely free, making it an accessible day out for local families and visitors alike. While general site entry is free of charge, specific activities – including crafts and the themed train rides – are available for an additional fee.

Visitors stepping into the enchanted grounds will find Havenstreet transformed into a hub of wizardry, featuring creepy characters and plenty of Hallowe’en surprises around every corner. Children and adults can look forward to a jam-packed schedule of entertainment, including an interactive magic show and wizard school, a creative craft marquee, and spooky cake-decorating sessions. For those feeling adventurous, a spine-chilling spooky trail winds its way around the grounds, alongside mesmerising giant bubble displays.

Aspiring witches and wizards can also get hands-on by crafting their very own custom broomsticks or magic wands to take home. No Hallowe’en experience would be complete without a visit to the pumpkin patch, where guests can pick and carve their own pumpkins.

For an authentic magical journey, visitors can step aboard a specially decorated spooky steam train for a ride through the Island countryside. Spooky Train Ride tickets come with added perks, including a small pumpkin straight from the patch, and a goody bag for children.

Whether you are looking to cast spells, craft a wand, or enjoy a haunting steam train ride, Havenstreet promises an unforgettable autumn adventure for all ages.
