Tricking athletes from across the world descended on the Isle of Wight, on July 5 & 6, for the second annual Flip The Island Gathering (FTIG), hosted by WightTricks.
Tricking is a freestyle acrobatic discipline involving moves from martial arts, gymnastics, break-dancing and freestyle movement.
Themed ‘Zero Limits’, this year’s gathering attracted competitors, coaches and guest judges from Japan, America, Austria, Finland, Sweden, and across the UK.
“This wasn’t just a competition,” said WightTricks founder, Robbie Bates. “It was a rite of passage. Every athlete who stepped onto that floor made their mark.”
Winners included Ryuta Suzuki (Pro Open), Rea Seino (Battle of Prodigies), Milan Kokavecz (Advanced), and Bella Roe (Returners Division), with podium places also awarded across beginner and intermediate categories.
The event was judged by top international figures who also led seminars for attendees.
