The carnival season gets under way tomorrow (Saturday), with an extravaganza in Newport.
There will be a parade departing South Street at 7pm, involving Carnival Queen floats from across the Island. The parade will include the Medina Marching Band, Ventnor Comic Jazz Band, Vectis Corps of Drums Marching Band, FaT Samba, Young Farmers modern and vintage vehicles and much more.
During the day, between 10am-4pm, there will be music and entertainment, including the Reading Scottish Pipe Band, and indoor market in The Minster, along with a line-up of four American Police cars, which will also appear in the parade.
