Finley Manser-Grundy produced an impressive performance at Sunday’s Wessex Cyclocross League event in Newbury, finishing third overall in the under-10s category.
On a cold and foggy morning, riders faced a challenging course featuring tight, twisting corners, and a long, gradual climb that tested them throughout the race.
Having learned from his previous outing, Finley made sure he was in the correct gear at the start, and his preparation paid off. He made a good getaway, entering the first corner in second place, and remaining among the leading three riders during the opening laps.
As the race progressed, Finley settled into third place and gradually built a comfortable gap over the fourth-placed rider. He maintained his pace and determination all the way to the finish, securing a well-deserved podium place.
