Isle of Wight Pride returns to Ryde beach this weekend

This Saturday, IW Pride celebrates a return to the beach with a weekend of entertainment, community village and to start proceedings, a parade through Ryde.

On Saturday, July 20, the Pride Parade will start at 11am from Ryde School on Queens Road and heads down West Street, Lind Street, Union Street, along the Esplanade until it reaches the Pride Community Village in Eastern Gardens.

The main stage overlooking the beach will feature some incredible artists including Winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Ginger Johnson, former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, Radio 1’s Dean McCullough, Quivers, Smashby, The Boy George Experience and more! The day will be hosted by Drag King sensation Don One.

General admission tickets are free (available via www.iwpride.org) with more than 4,000 already issued.

A limited number of VIP tickets are still available. Access to the beach is from 11am with ticket.

The Pride Community Village on Eastern Gardens will be open Saturday 20 and Sunday, July 21, including bars, a range of food stalls, local business and charity stalls and a special appearance by the Pride Unicorns!

IW Pride is open to all. This event champions the importance of equality and diversity by highlighting the advances that have been made for the LGBTQIA+ community here on the Island, in the UK and around the world, whilst also raising awareness of the prejudice and danger that many still face.

IW Pride is open for all to enjoy who share our vision for a world in which people can be their authentic selves with no fear of censure, judgement, inequality, or abuse, proving that ‘Love Wins.’

On the Sunday, the event partners with Symphonix Pride; two incredible shows from 12 noon to 6.30pm. Symphonix Pride features a 30-piece orchestra, live bands, Freddie Mercury and George Michael tributes plus drag sensation Cherry Liquor. Tickets start from £10.
