More than 200 Girlguiding members from across the Island enjoyed an exclusive screening of Zootropolis 2, at the Commodore Cinema, in Ryde, at the weekend.
Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers took part in the festive outing, which was organised locally by guide leader, Helen Sparling. The Island event formed part of a nationwide programme of exclusive screenings staged in partnership with Girlguiding.
Across the UK, the screenings were held at 98 Odeon cinemas on Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7. With no Odeon cinema on the Island, the Commodore stepped in to choose the Isle of Wight screening, allowing local members to take part, alongside more than 42,900 Girlguiding members nationally.
Imogen, from 1st Carisbrooke Guides, said: “I loved going to the cinema to see Zootropolis 2 with my unit. The film was very good. It was so much fun. As well as being with my friends from the Carisbrooke unit, we had the chance to meet up with other members of Girlguiding from other Island towns.”
Girlguiding has been running these exclusive film screenings for eight years, offering opportunities for members, aged four to 18, to enjoy activities beyond regular unit meetings. Zootropolis 2 is the tenth film to be shown as part of the programme.
