Tomorrow (Saturday) sees the return of the Older Persons’ Good Living Show.
Organised by successful homecare provider, Right at Home Isle of Wight, the inaugural show last year proved so popular that they have moved to a bigger venue.
Sandown Airport will be full of exhibitors showcasing their products, and open from 10am until 4pm – all designed to help getting older that little bit easier.
Wellbeing and independence is important as we age, and, these days, there are lots of aids and support that can help older Islanders stay in their own homes for longer.
With more than 30 exhibitors, including Age UK IW, Alzheimer Café IW, Churchers Solicitors, Embracing Age, Grace’s Bakery, Grey Matters Consultancy, the IW Council, the IW University for Free Time, South Wight Neighbourhood Police, Hurst’s, Wiltshire Farm Foods and many more; you’re guaranteed to find some advice, aids or a service that will be useful.
There will be hourly workshops, live music, and food – and a raffle, with lots of brilliant prizes to end the day.
Owners of Right at Home, Vicky and Paul Butler, have spent more than 10 months planning this year’s event. They said: “We are thrilled to be holding this event for its second year. We are hoping 2024 will be bigger and better, with more ways to stay independent at home. We would encourage anyone who is available to attend, as there may be something helpful for themselves, their relatives, friends or neighbours.
“This is a completely free event, with great raffle prizes, and freebies on many stalls.”
There is also plenty of free parking – so if you are of a certain age, or you know somebody who is, make sure you don’t miss this unique and useful event.
