Now in its 42nd year, the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival returns this weekend with its signature blend of country fair charm, sixties pop festival vibes, and a whole lot of garlic. Thousands of families are expected to descend on the show-ground for two days of food, fun, and fragrant festivities.
Garlic is the undisputed star — you’ll find it in everything from food and drink to games and giveaways. Whether you’re sampling garlicky treats, watching the Garlic Games, or stocking up to take home, it’s a celebration of the Island’s most pungent produce.
This family-friendly event offers entertainment for all ages. Expect flying birds and stunt bikes in the arenas, and culinary flair in the theatre kitchen, where top chefs and local producers show off their skills.
2025 Highlights Include:
Bluey and Bingo – Australia’s favourite pups will be making appearances throughout the weekend.
Titan the Robot – A towering festival favourite, Titan returns to stomp, joke and entertain.
Live Cooking Demos – Sean Jeffers from The Red Lion, Freshwater, will showcase the dishes that earned him two AA Rosettes and a spot in the Michelin Guide. Plus garlic bread making, cupcake decorating, tastings and talks.
Sweetcorn Roast – Locally-grown cobs smothered in garlic butter, served by Wave Project Isle of Wight. Every penny raised goes to the charity.
There’s fabulous live music all weekend on the big stage, including country rockers Honky Tonk Highway, The Optimists, Baggywrinkles and more. Sunday brings foot-stomping fun with The Long Island Stompers.
Kids will love Camp Garlic, packed with free arts and crafts, circus fun, games, archery with Wight Bowmen, Scout-led activities and marquees full of talented makers.
All this, set against stunning Island scenery. Grab a tasty treat, a cider, real ale or a G&T from the beer tent, perch on a straw bale, and soak it all in.
