Pawsitive thoughts from animal-mad pair

A new business, aiming to help pet owners care for and train their animals, has been set up by two former zoo employees.

Your moggy may not be quite as big as the tigers at Sandown Zoo, but the combined 40-years’ experience of Caz Lorek and Charl Bailie can be put to good use whether your beloved companion is exotic or a little less unusual.

Pawsitive Animal Care focuses on positivity, kindness, enthusiasm and patience with both owners and pets. Caz and Charl’s love of animals and compassion for all living things has seen them successfully care for birds, dogs, cats, tigers, monkeys and many other species, providing a safe, fun and educational experience for them.
Caz has a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Animal Management and a First Class Zoology degree. She has cared for all kinds of creatures, winning many national awards for her big cat training and using innovative techniques which dramatically improved the welfare of the animals in her care.

Charl was born into in a conservation family in Kenya and has spent her entire life looking after animals. She always knew that she would be spending her life devoted to their care and studied nature conservation, followed by two years working as a research assistant in the Namib Desert. After leaving Namibia, Charl secured a role National Zoological Gardens of South Africa, followed by a few years at a cheetah breeding facility and, on moving to England, she became a zoo animal manager.

Both of them are firm believers that positivity and kindness achieve the best results when working with animals, building a relationship with trust and respect. The services they offer include dog walking and training, pet pop-ins, pet sitting, equine care and small holding farm care as well as assistance with rescued animals.
