Open Gardens raise air ambulance funds

A cheque for £3,765 was presented to the Air Ambulance Charity at the recent St Helens Horticultural Society Summer Show on The Green.

The money raised was from the St Helens Open Gardens in June where local people open their gardens for others to enjoy.

There was a large number of different entries in the various categories with visitors taking part in the raffle and chancing their luck in finding the treasure in the horticulture mini garden.

One of the main winners of the event was Kerris Hammond won several cups including her entry in the ‘Bitesize Tomatoes’ category.

Michael McInnes was another big winner and took the Dahlia Cup while Anne Barlow won an award in the Under-14 entries.
