Dress windows for Volunteers’ Week

Mountbatten’s 10 shops will be asking for the community’s support to help them prepare for Volunteers’ Week by decorating blank bunting with messages and drawings describing what Mountbatten means to them. Shop managers will then use the decorated bunting to dress their windows during Volunteers’ Week, between June 1 and 7.

Kath Bright, retail operations manager at Mountbatten, said: “Volunteers are the lifeblood of our shops and we simply couldn’t operate without them. We are so very grateful to our committed army of shop volunteers, but we are always seeking more support.

“Hopefully, by encouraging our community to get involved for just a few minutes by helping to decorate bunting for our shop windows, they will get a taster of just how fun and worthwhile volunteering can be.”

During the week, there will also be the opportunity to learn more about other volunteering opportunities with Mountbatten, including the new Mountbatten Neighbours project. Drop-in sessions are being held in some of Mountbatten’s high street shops, and further information about these events will be published at www.mountbatten.org.uk and on Facebook and on Twitter @MountbattenIW .
