Bay students explore Paris on cultural half-term visit

The Eiffel Tower sightseeing tour

Students from The Bay CE School enjoyed an unforgettable six-day trip to Paris over May half-term, taking in the sights and sounds of one of the world’s most iconic cities.

The group of 38 pupils took part in a packed itinerary, beginning with a hands-on cookery workshop, where they learned to make classic French pastries, including croissants and macaroons, and gained a memorable insight into traditional French cuisine.

Pupils also cruised along the River Seine aboard the famous Bateaux Mouches, enjoying views of landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Notre Dame Cathedral. Sightseeing on foot followed, with stops along the Champs Élysées and other notable sites.

The highlight for many was two full days at Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios, giving students a chance to relax, enjoy the rides, and spend time with friends.

Louis, 14, said: “I loved all of it; the sightseeing was great, and Disneyland was so much fun.” Ryder, also 14, added: “I enjoyed learning about French culture and cooking traditional French cuisine.”

Trip leader, Stuart Allen, said: “It was an incredible experience for our students; they explored one of the world’s most beautiful cities, gained confidence and cultural awareness, and had a great time. We’re proud of how they represented the school.”
