A very warm welcome awaits you at The Buddle Inn

Many Islanders will be delighted to hear The Buddle Inn is set to re-open next Sunday (March 10), just in time for Mother’s Day.

One of the Island’s oldest and most beloved pubs, The Buddle, located in Niton Undercliff, has been closed for winter, while the interior and kitchen and other back-of-house areas have been given a complete overhaul.

Preservation of the unique character and charm of the 18th century smugglers’ inn has been at the forefront of the refurbishment, including the Grade II listed pub’s flagstone and oak flooring, bar area and rustic barn. Comfortable bench seating have been installed throughout the pub, with new life breathed into The Buddle’s décor with the aim of adding light, while maintaining its cosy and traditional feel.

Works are also underway to turn disused staff accommodation into four bedrooms, enabling the Buddle to become a boutique B&B later this year. Improvements have also been made to the 65-seater function room, available to book for weddings, birthdays and special occasions.

To go with the physical improvements, there is a brand new team looking forward to welcoming back regulars and visitors, with the kitchens under the direction of talented head chef, Mike Carley.

Bookings are now open, with a special three course menu available for Mother’s Day. See iow.life/buddle or call 730243.
