Youngsters learn more about the story of Easter

There was an increased attendance for the Children’s Service of Stations of the Cross on Good Friday at St Mary’s Church in Ryde.

The children were accompanied by parents as they were led around the church to pray and to meditate on the fourteen Stations of the Cross displayed on the walls. These Stations portray Christ’s journey to Calvary and his Crucifixion.

The service concluded with the children coming forward, each with a lighted candle to offer and display, to symbolise Christ’s resurrection on Easter Sunday and the new light he brings to humanity.
