Midfield scrap at Smallbrook as Island side win at home to Basingstoke

Isle of Wight Women’s XI rotated their squad in their 4-1 home win over Basingstoke IV, fielding a youthful side in the first half, creating few chances and conceding an early, scrappy goal from a short corner. Keeper, Tia Shutler, had another brave match, with a defiant defence and an industrious midfield. Second-half sub, Kate Ednay, introduced experience and scored twice, with emerging talent, Evie Fairhurst and Sarah Shaw, also scoring to secure the points and move to second place in the table.

South Central Two saw IW Men draw 1-1 at home to Havant III.

The Men’s 2nd XI lost 5-1 away at Basingstoke in Solent One, with the Women’s 2nd XI losing 5-0 away at Chichester Centurions in Solent One.
