A weekend of wet weather saw 4 goals for Whitecroft & Barton’s Kade Woodford, and West Wight’s Jordan Maloney, a Tyler Thorne triple for Niton, 3 Wessex draws, and Shanklin women earn a point away at Millbrook.

Island League and Cups

In Division One, in damp conditions, Brading won 6-3 at home to Vectis, with the visitors leading and scoring three times in the first half through Mark Goodwin, Harry Symes and Ben Cutts. The Romans’ goals came from Aaron Bennett and Lewis Parsons, with 2 apiece from Liam Bennett and Scott Lawson.

Shanklin won 3-0 away at a youthful Cowes Reserves, with a strike from Jamie Trowbridge and 2 goals from Cory Sanderson.

In Division Two, after leading 6-0 at the break, Sandown won 8-1 at home to Seaview, with Charlie Warboyes, Jake Lester (2), Kai Westmore, Karl Butcher, Luke Healy, Mason Parker, and Ryan Walker. Jamie Phillimore got Seaview’s consolation goal.
Leaders, High Park, won 1-0 away at Oakfield with a goal from John Robjant.

Pan won 2-1 away at Ryde Saints, with goals in either half from Adam Drysdale and John Drakeford.

In the Gold Cup, Northwood beat Osborne Coburg 3-1. Jim Cantelo scored for Osborne, and there were goals from sub, Callum Bowen Clarke, John Bilton and George Holmes for the winners, with James Flux yellow carded.

In the Challenge Cup, W&B won 6-0 at home to Binstead COB, with Kade Woodford hitting 4, and 1 apiece for Sam Cant and Dan Pearson.

W&B Res won 3-1 away at Northwood Res, in the Junior A Cup, with goals from Barney Snaith (2) and Josh Gwilliam.

Combination Leagues

In Combination One, goals from Dylan Andrews and Alex Breingan saw Sandown Res win 2-1 at Ventnor Res, who scored through Euan Sargent.

After a goal-less first half, Bembridge Res won 4-3 at home to Brading Res, with goals from Bobbie Wye (2), Michael Brown and sub, Ollie Gough, with consolation goals from Elliott Apter (2) and Rich Scott.

Shanklin Res came from a goal down, to draw 1-1 at home to Osborne Coburg Res, who led through Brad Gamble. Shanklin’s sub, Ryan Hill, grabbed a second-half equaliser.

East Cowes Sports Res won 6-3 away at Binstead COB.

In Combination Two, leaders, Osborne Coburg A, won 3-2 at home to Bembridge A, with goals from Tyler Mullan, an own goal, and Michal Poplawski, and Bembridge first-half goals, from Tyler Randle and Josh Attrill.

Niton Res won 6-0 at home to Newchurch Res, with a Tyler Thorne hat-trick, and 1 apiece from Ryan McDowall, Josh Edgerton and Edward Brotherton.

Two goals from Robert Gee, and 1 from Rhys Burtenshaw, saw Ventnor A win 3-1 at home to Vectis Res, who scored through Maciej Sadel.

West Wight A came back from 2-1 at the break, to win 6-3 at home to Sandown & Lake A, with 4 goals from Jordan Maloney and 1 apiece from Taylor Simmonds and Jacob Dunn-Coleman. The visitors scored through Ash Daniels (2) and Dale Watkins.

Wessex

In the Premier Division, Cowes, after leading twice in the first half, drew 2-2 away at Christchurch, with goals from a Scott McFarlane volley and Jez Conway.

Vics shared a goal-less draw at home to Alresford Town.

Ji Nash and Joe Butcher goals saw Newport draw 2-2 away at Frimley Green.

Midweek results

Vics won 3-0 at home to Fleet. An own goal from a Raff Boyd-Kerr cross gave the Islanders the lead on 10 minutes, with goals from player-of-the-match, Liam Triggs, and Elliot Wheeler, securing 3 deserved points.

Ladies football

Shanklin drew 1-1 away at Millbrook, with a first-half goal from Gemma Woodford.

In Wessex, Cowes welcome Portland Utd, Newport entertain Cove, with Vics travelling to Fairfield Town in the FA Vase.
