Sandown family business burgled twice in a week

A golf centre and cafe has been burgled for the second time in a week.

Browns Family Golf and Cafe was broken into on Sunday (August 12) during the early hours of the morning.

The Sandown business was then targeted again in the early hours Wednesday morning (August 15), tips and stock have been stolen from the family run business’s premises.

A spokesman for Browns said: “It’s the most gutting feeling in this world for us and our team to know that two people have forced their way in and rooted around our family business. A little stock and the hard earned tips have been taken and our lovely French doors broken. Please, if you know or hear anything then please let the police know.”

A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We are investigating two burglary incidents which took place at Browns Golf Course in Culver Parade, Sandown.

“The first incident took place overnight on Saturday (August 11) into the early hours of Sunday (August 12).

“A tips jar was reported stolen.

“Similarly, overnight on Tuesday (August 14) into Wednesday (August 15), the premises were broken into.

“It is not clear exactly what, if anything, has been stolen at this time.”
