The 2024 Contessa Regatta, hosted by the Royal Solent Yacht Club in Yarmouth, from Friday, May 31 to June 2, is now open for entries with a discounted early bird rate available until midnight Friday, April 8. Standard entry is open from April 9 until midnight May 22.
Last year, 40 Contessas from all over the Solent area entered the regatta, predominantly made up of 26, 28 and 32 classes. In addition to the Contessa 32 Point Series, the 26s and 28s are again holding their Nationals over this weekend.
A full programme of racing is planned on Saturday and Sunday in the Western Solent, with three races on Saturday and two races on Sunday. There will also be a social programme planned ashore, with a welcome drinks’ reception and supper on Friday evening.
On Saturday Jeremy Rogers Ltd is hosting a Rum Punch party on the RSYC Lawn, after which competitors and their guests can enjoy supper in the club followed by dancing to local band ‘The Accelerators’. The weekend will culminate on Sunday afternoon, with a Hog Roast and prize-giving by Fiona Rogers, widow of the late Jeremy Rogers.
