Linda becomes a Queen’s Nurse due to community education

Mountbatten nurse, Linda Prendergast, has been awarded the Queen’s Nurse award for community education.

The prestigious title is applied for by nurses with at least five years’ experience, who can show they have been committed to delivering and leading outstanding care in the community.

In Linda’s case, she has spent around 40 years in nursing, including 25 years at Mountbatten. She is currently based on Mountbatten’s education team, which allows her to share her knowledge and skills with others.

A spokesman said: “Linda says she accepted the title of behalf of Mountbatten and her colleagues. We’re really proud of Linda, who joins a handful of other colleagues among the Queen’s Nurse ranks.”
