Island secondary school plans to reduce future admissions

An Island secondary school is planning to reduce the number students it takes on in the future.

Cowes Enterprise College underwent a six week Ormiston Academy consultation which ended on Monday (November 12).

If the plans are accepted, the school will accept 210 Year Seven pupils instead of 270 from the start of 2020’s academic year.

The academy say figures demonstrate fewer children needing school places in the future and a surplus of places on the Island in its entirety.
