Going Electric back for 2023

By Press Release May 12, 2023

After a highly successful event last year, the second ‘Going Electric’ event will take place at the Isle of Wight College on Sunday, July 30, from 10am to 4pm.

Going Electric will showcase not only the latest cars and vans, but bikes, the home, Electric Vehicle (EV) charging, renewable energy and more, with talks from leading experts on many aspects of the electric transport revolution and sustainable living.

As well as the Island’s leading car dealers, and ‘Meet the Owner’ opportunity to talk to EV owners, the popular ‘Bike Zone’ will give visitors to see and test ride the latest electric bikes.

Talks from leading experts in the lecture room will look at electrification of home and transport, and the bigger picture of renewable technologies and the global environment.

The event is being presented by Wight Community Energy, supported by funding from Power to Change, and is sponsored by WightFibre with Red Funnel sponsoring the expert talks.

Colin Palmer, director of Wight Community Energy, said: “The world is going electric. Millions of EVs are hitting the road each year, but the electric revolution is about much more than just cars. Our Going Electric event will showcase the breadth and depth of this revolution in mobility and home energy, showing what is happening now and where the electric future will take us. It is going to be an exciting ride!”

The event is free to attend with free parking for visitors.
