Firefighters freed one person from a crash in Ventnor.
The incident occurred in Newport Road, between the shop and the schools at around 5pm.
The road is closed and could be closed for some time and two vehicles have crashed.
From photos taken at the scene it appears that a BMW has been involved in a head on collision with a Toyota.
