Ventnor witnessed the true spirit of the rugby family, in a brief half-time ceremony Alresford’s travelling support presented Lesley Orton with £270 raised in support of Luke Orton’s fund.
Lesley and Tony Orton are converting their Ventnor home to meet their son’s future needs after his life-changing injury playing beach rugby in the summer.
Luke suffered a broken neck and spinal cord damage, leaving him paralysed from the chest down and without the use of his hands. He has been in hospital since the July 22 incident.
