The first Eden Communities Project Isle of Wight social has taken place at the Wight Horse CIC Island Riding Centre.
The project has been organised by Michael Paler and it gives the group the chance to form new friendships sharing their life stories each Tuesday. The scheme is supported by the Eden Project in Cornwall, and is part of a nationwide network of groups designed to bring local communities together.
Michael said: “This will give everyone an opportunity to have a break and a cup of tea and chat about a variety of experiences. This social gives them a chance to get away from their daily routines, which involve caring and working from home.

“The therapy involves working with the centre’s horses in the yard. Certainly, Focus and Bluebell enjoyed their grooming at our first get-together. More people are going to attend from all parts of the Island and we’re looking forward to meeting new members for a morning of horsing around!
“We will also meet regularly to celebrate the vibrant spirit of the Island through a wide range of activities and events. From beach clean-ups to arts and crafts workshops, from nature walks to charity fundraisers, there’s something for everyone.“
