Dad’s go free on Father’s Day – 17th June

1 min read

The Isle of Wight’s only bus operator is  marking Father’s Day by offering the island’s youngsters the chance to take their dads on the bus for free.

Southern Vectis will provide complimentary travel for fathers on Sunday 17 June – as long as they are accompanied by a child buying a day rover ticket.

“Choosing a gift for Father’s Day can prove to be a bit of a challenge for many – so we thought we’d step in with a suggestion,” said Nikki Honer, Southern Vectis head of communications.

“We’re sure fathers across the Isle of Wight would like nothing better than to spend their special day with their off-spring – so what better way to do that than to take a day trip on us?

“There are plenty of great places to visit here – and this is an excellent opportunity to leave the car at home, relax and take an adventure together. A chance for kids to return the favour and take on the role of ‘dad’s taxi’ – even if it’s just for one day.”

Every child buying a day rover ticket for a Southern Vectis journey during Fathers’ Day will be able to take dad for free.
