Dinosaur Isle’s popular ‘Blast from the Past’ event returns this weekend (November 16-17).
The event brings together heritage, natural history and archaeological groups and organisations from across the Island, under one pterodactyl-shaped roof on Culver Parade, Sandown.
Local heritage exhibitors this year include the IW Bus & Coach Museum, Dimbola Museum, and the IW Council Heritage Service. There will be a team from the Winchester Science Centre, members of the Isle of Wight Metal Detecting Club, local archaeologists to talk about the latest discoveries from the Mottistone estate, local fossil collectors, and experts to identify your finds and give advice on how to care for your fossils.
Tour operators, Wight Coast Fossils & Dinosaur Expeditions, who run the popular Dinosaur Farm, will also be at the event and will bring along some of their latest finds.
The event is open from 10am and 4pm both tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday (November 17), with last admission at 3pm. Admission is just £1 with free parking.
