A 17-year-old boy is due in court today (Tuesday, March 18) following an assault in Salters Park, Ryde on Wednesday, March 12.
At around 5pm, a 72-year-old man was assaulted following a verbal altercation. The victim was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment to head and face injuries and has since been discharged..
Following a thorough investigation a 17-year-old boy has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of cannabis.
He has been remanded to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates Court today.
