Hundreds of Vodafone customers on the Isle of Wight were unable to make calls on their mobile phones this evening following a major network issue.
Vodafone users were unable to make or receive calls in a wide area that also spread to other parts of the south east.
Text messages were not affected, and Vodafone confirmed they were looking into the problem.
Update: Vodafone managed to rectify the problems and a full service for customers was resumed at around 7pm
