Viennese classics in Ryde this week

Next Saturday (April 20) at 7pm in All Saints’ Church, Ryde, Ryde Chorus will present a selection of choral classics from the First Viennese school.

The title, “First Viennese School” describes the period in the late 18th to early 19th century when Joseph Haydn, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven, all living in Viennia, were the leading composers of European classical music Complemented by guest soloists and instrumentalists, the choir will present Missa Brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo, No. 7. J Haydn, Missa Brevis in D major (K194), W A Mozart, The Heavens are Telling, Halleluia (from Christ on the Mount of Olives), L V Beethoven Ode to Joy. Refreshments will be available during the interval.
